The picture is dated on the back, 05 August 1904. Someone has written in pen the name “Hobbs” on the front. Perhaps there are some Hobbs descendants working on their lines who would recognize her. Most likely they lived in Muhlenberg County.

1799 Tax List Totals Page

1799 Tax List Totals Page

Important information: The 1799 Tax List apparently consisted of TWO books – the first containing at most 236 names, the second containing 84.

However, the photocopy I was working from does not contain this second book. It contains 17 pages of names, and then a totals page for the 1st book followed by a page containing totals for both books 1 and 2.

This second totals page is now online!

I don’t know if I simply did not receive the second book, whether it has been mixed in with the first set of names, or if the second book no longer exists.
